AFAIK, one saw her in the TV series "Paying Guest" way back in early
80's. Please confirm.

If you mean Ratna Bhushan, her most famous appearance was in
"Trishna", a serial on DD based on Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice..
You can also find her in Barsaat ki Raat..infact the film opens with
her (Garjat Barsat Saawan Aaayo Re)

Trishna was quite popular those even though I do not remember much of it.
I think there was a character by the name of Tarun Dhanrajgir in it.

Isn't it the other way around? In a biography on Madhubala, it is mentioned that
there were 3 proposals for Madhubala--Bharat Bhushan, Pradeep Kumar and Kishore
Kumar. Madhubala was confused and went to Nargis for advice. Nargis told her
that Pradeep Kumar was two-timing her with Mala Sinha, Kishore Kumar was fun but
might be slightly crazy, and that Bharat Bhushan whose wife had recently passed
away was a good person--a family man. Hence she(Madhubala) should marry BB. Once
the Pradeep Kumar angle was confirmed, it was down to two, and I guess she
preferred slightly crazy to dull and safe.

Ratna Bhushan is staying at Malad(Mumbai).

Zedka, Yes while writng in this colomn it looks really nice... But difficult to do in action for Big B!... Why this fate happened to those from 1950 and 60 actors? Most of them did not know how to handle success. Many fell to lure of glitter and booze. Lost money due to family commitments, dependents on them and later ditched them...
Life is like this... present generations are aware of the situation better. still there are who are seen on the roads of Delhi, Mumbai and villages...Even Kadar Khan cound not avoid the tragic fate what to talk of others!

amitabh bachchan must be mistaken. i actually trust wikipedia and find it to be very reliable. it says bharat bhushan passed away in 1992. amitabh's post is probably from 2008. that's a 15+ year difference. i bet he just mistakened the stranger for bharat bhushan. i don't think amitabh is obligated to give away his money. maybe bharat bhushan had misfortune and lost his money - but he was lucky enough to be a big star and hopefully acquire wealth during his hey dey.

I too have reservation about Amitabh's write-up. Bharat Bhushan (BB) produced atleast
2 super successful films: BASANT BAHAR and BARSAAT KI RAAT (Titles list his
bother as the producer (probably for Income tax reasons. Similarly, Jeetendra
had his brother front for him as a producer) BB's last film as a producer: NAI UMAR
KI NAI FASAL - a flop, could not have caused big hole in his wealth.

Amitabh might have seen BB's Body Double // Look-alike. BB did not have a twin
brother.

Amitabh Bachchan said he saw Bharat Bhushan 'one day'. The date was never specified. It could have been more than a decade ago. As for BB losing his wealth, it's true. He mostly got only character roles after the 60s and took to gambling to earn more money, which failed.

He married into a prominent family in Meerut, Zamindar Raibahadur Budha Prakash's daughter Sharadha. They had two daughters, Anuradha and Aparijitha. Anuradha had polio-associated complications. Sharadha died of labour complications after delivering their second child in the early 60s, soon after the film Barsaat ki raat. In 1967, he married actress Ratna, his co-star in the movie Barsaat Ki Raat.
