Post by Srinivas GantiPost by a***@my-deja.comPost by Srinivas GantiQuite an enjoyable movie. The central character (Bharat Bhushan, named
by his father, a big fan of the actor) is a huge fan of music. He
mentions Naushad, SDB and S-J among his fav composers. Many other
golden era composers are also mnetioned and quite a few songs are
sung/
The movie is a riot.

Warning: Off-Topic for RMIM.
I have not seen the film, but judging from the plot, as narrated by a
friend, it seems like a straightforward lift from the French film,
'The Dinner Game'. I have seen that and found it enjoyable.

Yup. It is a lift. However its adapted well to the indian context.
I also thought some RMIMers will associate themselves
with the centraal character in the sense that he is crazy
quite crazy about old songs.
And he keeps track of things like
"aayega aanewala" men "aayega" kitini baar aayega
"chalte chalte" men chalte ke saath kitne baar chalna hai
Thanks, will look out for it.
Re - a similar genre, 'Jhankaar Beats' was well done. I liked the
references to RDB as well as the Sholay related trivia.
Although Hyderabad Blues- Part 2, was so-so, there was a moment of
great comedy, when Inamdar's character gets a scathing piece of advice/
sarcasm (cannot remember) from his wife to which, he retorts by
singing, "Aag se naata, naari se rishta' [1]. I have made a mental
note of using that line at appropriate situations at home. :-)
[1] from 'meri bheeegi bheegi si'.
Cheers
